Mariam Noori is an award-winning journalist and filmmaker. She works as a reporter in front of the camera and also directs behind the scenes. Noori works mainly investigative and she deals with the consequences of global conflicts and wars. Noori researched a Islamic State terror cell and accompanied an IS returnee during his reintegration. She uncovered the Lovemobile fake, which sparked a Germany-wide debate in the documentary scene. In 2022, Noori traveled after the Taliban takeover to Afghanistan and interviewed Taliban including their advocators and critics. The final documentary won the Grimme Award.
Mariam Noori volunteered at the public broadcaster „NDR“ and trained as a war and crisis journalist at the UN-Training Center. Her task range from research, conducting interviews and directing to the conceptual realization and post-production of the film project. She was born in 1987 in Afghanistan (Mazar-e Sharif) as the daughter of an Afghan and Ukrainian. Her parents immigrated to Germany (Hamburg) after the outbreak of the civil war. She speaks German, English, Russian and Farsi.
